The City Institute and the Global Suburbanisms MCRI Project at York University are proud to co-sponsor the Toronto launch of Rohan Quinby's new book, Time and the Suburbs: The Politics of Built Environments and the Future of Dissent, (Winnipeg: Arbeiterring Publishing 2011).
This event will be held on Satuday, June 2nd at 4:00pm, at Type Books located at 883 Queen St. W Toronto, ON M6J165.
Combining provocative prose with photo-essay, Time and the Suburbs explores the disappearance of cities in North America under the weight of suburban, exurban, and other forms of development that are changing the way we live and do politics.
Copies will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments served.
For additional commentary on Time and the Suburbs: The Politics of Built Environments and the Future of Dissent, see Roger Keil's recent post on the Suburbanicity Blog, in which Rohan Quinby's book is described as " a thoughtful and inspiring essay on the possibilities for progressive, radical, democratic politics 'where we live now' ".
