Lorenzo De Vidovich "Transit networks are key to smart growth in suburbs"

 

Lorenzo De Vidovich, PhD Candidate in Urban Planning, Design and Policy at the Politecnico di Milano and visiting scholar at the City Institute at York University recently wrote an article in The Conversation about the Italian experience of transit infrastructure and smart growth in the suburbs.

"Italy’s big cities have historically faced a mismatch in the development of public transportation. Instead of developing a regional network, the focus has been on separate municipal systems or on the national high-speed railway network."
